Biofarma Karlín, s. r. o. is located in the village of Volárna near Kolín. It is a young farm, which the current owners took over in a desolate state and are transforming into a prosperous enterprise. Only the cowshed, now with a modern face, remains of the original buildings and additional buildings have been added, including halls for storing crop commodities. Last year, the biofarm was also enriched with a VibroMAX JCM 10122 aspiration pre-cleaner with a JAM 10 rotary feeder from JK Machinery a.s., which ensures not only quality cleaning of commodities, but also separation of various impurities, which are then recovered directly on the farm.
Quality cleaning maximises production
“We used to have an old cylindrical cleaner, but it didn’t clean as well as we needed,” says Michal Hradecký. There were several impulses for buying a new one, including the to take advantage of admixtures and impurities for animal feed, which were transported with the grain to seed factories, buyouts or other buyers and not return back after cleaning. This resulted not only in the cost of the cleaning itself but also in losses. The quality of the commodity itself is also an indisputable advantage, since, for example, imperfectly cleaned sowing seed could previously have complicated sowing (clogging of hoses …). The new cleaner VibroMAX JCM 10122 has already passed through around 300 tonnes of all materials, according to the biofarm director – the combination of sieves makes it possible to clean really any agricultural crop, and the cleaned waste has yielded a significant part of the feed – up to 80% of the feed ration requirement, according to Michal Hradecky. And this is already a significant amount that improves the profitability of the company.
This cleaner separates the product on the basis of different particle sizes (sieve cleaning) and different aerodynamic properties (air cleaning) with a so-called JAM (aspiration pre-cleaner with rotary feeder). The line is further comprised of a screw conveyor, elevator and hopper. The declared capacity of the cleaner is 60 t/hr for pre-cleaning, but the bio-production reduces this potential (higher load of weed plants on the commodity…). Despite this, the bio-farm is very satisfied with the clarifier, they calculate the payback within ten years. “If we take good care of the cleaner, clean it, it is immortal thanks to its simplicity,” adds Michal Hradecký. Like-minded farmers may be inspired by the planned presentations of JK Machinery directly at the Biofarm Karlín.
